Privacy Policy

Kare Kapmaca («the App») is a turn-based territory-capture game played on grid paper. We care about your privacy. This policy explains what data is processed for the website (karekapmaca.com) and the mobile app.

In short: No account is required. We do not ask for your name, e-mail, precise location or contacts. If you use online mode, only an anonymous player ID and the match state are kept on a server. A date of birth entered in the Android age screen is not stored or sent; only the resulting age group remains on the device. On Android, ads are not shown to users under 18 or to users whose age has not yet been established.

1. Data we collect

Account data: We do not ask for a name, e-mail, phone number or password. Only when you use online mode, a randomly generated anonymous ID is assigned to your device (Firebase Anonymous Auth). It cannot be linked to your identity and does not reveal who you are. No ID is created in offline modes.
Game preferences: Theme (light/dark) and sound on/off, stored in your device's local storage (localStorage / device memory). They are never sent to us.
Age group (Android only): A date of birth entered in the neutral age screen is used locally only to calculate an age group. The full date of birth is not stored or sent to a server. Only an “under 18” or “adult” result is stored on the device.
Automatic technical data (web only): The site is hosted on Netlify, which may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, request time). We do not use these logs to build profiles.
Online match data (online mode only): When you play online with a friend or a matched player, the match is stored on Google Firebase (Firestore): board state, moves, invite code and anonymous player IDs. Servers are located in the European Union. This data exists only so both sides see the same match; it is not used for advertising or marketing. Write to us if you want your matches deleted.
Advertising data (eligible mobile users only): For users eligible to receive ads, Google AdMob may process an advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID, when available), device and app information, coarse location (country/region level) and ad interaction data. On Android, ad requests are not initiated for users under 18 or whose age is not established.

2. Advertising

On Android, ads are not shown and ad requests are not initiated for users under 18 or whose age is not established. For eligible adult users, personalisation is controlled by the choice made in Google's consent flow where required; if consent cannot be obtained, non-personalised ads are used. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission also applies; when permission is denied, advertising-identifier tracking is not used. 5. Children's privacy

The app is suitable for all ages. A date of birth entered in the neutral Android age screen is not stored or sent. Ads and online mode are unavailable to users under 18 or whose age is not established; offline game modes remain available. If an adult user chooses online mode, Firebase processes an anonymous player ID and match state without asking for a name or e-mail. If you believe we hold data relating to your child, contact us; we will review and delete it as appropriate.

6. Retention and security

We run no servers of our own. In offline modes no data leaves your device. In online mode the match data is kept on Firebase and contains no personal information. You can remove on-device preferences by deleting the app or clearing your browser data.

7. Your rights (GDPR / KVKK)

You have the right to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your personal data. You can reset your advertising identifier or opt out of personalised ads in device settings (iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking; Android: Settings › Google › Ads).

8. Changes

This policy may be updated; the date above changes when we make material updates.
